Climbing the pole we could see that the top portion was hollow and open from above. Getting a photo down the hole was challenging, but we resolved it by climbing a ladder leaned against the pole with Liam on my shoulders, and Liam got a serviceable shot of four ready-to-fledge nestlings about two feet down the hole.
